Remember me a La Trappe or something like that. Flavor is pretty much the same, no alcohol perception. A quit dry finish. Good One! rman18 (201), South Amboy, New Jersey, USA

Poured this into a tulip and there was very little tan head that just laced the top but lasted a while. The smell and taste is beautiful with a bit cider, vanilla, and I get a bit of honey or spicyness out of it. Very good beer - doesn’t get close to the Chimay but good for a local guy here in Jersey. This is the best River Horse has to offer in my opinion. jmcinerny (15), Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 27, 2008 Year old 12 oz. bottle. Didn’t quite like it when I got the six pack a year ago so I held on to the last one. It just doesn’t seem like other Tripels I have had such as Chimay. That being said, the carbonation was huge and I had to rush over to the sink as soon as I opened it. Poured it into and Orval glass, amber translucent color, head dissipated quickly. Musty odor, tasted a lot of dried apricot. Will try again fresh and lay some down and see what happens. I like it. jimhilt (1691), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Pours a five+ finger (pour slowly) white head that fades slowly and leaves traces of lace. Cloudy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Cider nose. Flavor is sweetish cider and fruit. High ABV is hidden, nice tripel. $2.45 for a 12oz bottle from Yankee Spirits South Attleboro, Ma. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 8, 2008 A gift from Singlemalter: While I opted in cellaring this, the temptation was too much. Now I wish I had another one to hold on for another year. This beer pours the most incredible head I have ever seen. An orange body with lots of carbonation. Very sweet taste, mangoe, apples- oddly enough it has that cider sweetness. Crazy head like an ice cream cone. Styrofoam, 3D styled lacing- no joke and a sticky jungle spider web like residue left on the glass. A spicey finish in every sip. jredmond (1068), New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2008 Had this with an uncle on Memorial Day. Sadly enough I can’t remember any specific qualities of the beer. I remember it hiding the 10% pretty well - and the taste having notes of yeast and spice. Great Abbey Tripel but Ill have to try it again. jason (1626), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Bottle. Poured a deep golden body with thin head. Pleasant aroma of spices, perfumey, yeast. Flavor is mild spices, citrus and slightly sweet. Quite smooth. Possibly the best River Horse I’ve had yet. moseslikesbeer (183), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA

My friend "afireinside96" gave me 4 from this Co. and told me to save this one for last because it was the best of the 4 he gave me. Right on bro! Nice creamy, tasty beer. the 10% ABv is well hidden and that’s the wat to go. Big fan of that.
