Commercial Description:
Notice a unique aromatic nose with a hint of vanilla esters, which comes from the Belgian ale yeast. Tripel Horse has a big body and rich mouth feel and finishes mostly dry with only a touch of sweetness. If you shy from some of the sweeter Belgian ales, we think you will enjoy this one. The palate improves with age, so keep some on hand and you can ride Tripel Horse down a new path with each opened bottle.

Draught at TND: Sweet aroma of Belgian yeast, hops, light fruit, and light spices. Poured amber/honey in color with a small to medium-sized, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of Belgian yeast, light alcohol, light hops, light spices, light grains, and slight fruit. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Yeast, slight spice, and hop finish is dry.

Did you know this beer has 10% ABV? (sarcasm, given the label) The best thing going for this beer is its golden orange color...very nice looking. Brown sugar and vanilla nose, but also undertones of rotten egg. Taste is sweet at first, but no real sophistication. Not a great tripel.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Clear looks, golden in color, and has a white colored head. The smell is sweet, sugart, fruits, and yeast. The taste is sweet, sugar, vanilla, but not a whole lot.

Tap. Moderate notes of grain, lemon and perfume for the malt and hops, light to moderate dough and soap for the yeast, with hints of clove in the background. Head is small frothy whole with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is mostly clear yellow. Flavor is moderately sweet to start and finishes moderately sweet and a touch bitter. Palate is light to medium, creamy and has a soft carbonation. A pretty good Abbey Tripel that leans a little to much on the sweet side.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a huge tan head with good lace. Golden body underneath. Aroma of flowers, dryness and honey. Taste is candi, and way too sweet for a triple. Light bubbles and somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Under attenuated!
