| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 29, 2007 I’ve had this one several times now. Once it was very refreshing and tasty, the other two (or three?) were off-putting. This is the house ale for the Miller Lite crowd, those who don’t want to venture out at all but prefer nice yellow light-drinking beers before dinner. I don’t mean to be so judgmental, but I have heard on many occasions there the lines, "What’s closest to Miller? I don’t like dark-tasting beers." The bartender invariably offers Honey Ale as an alternative and to be fair, the customer seems to enjoy it. I don’t like the lack of balance in the flavor, it’s way too sweet for my tastes. It’s well-crafted for sure, but just not my cup of tea. Ughsmash (4047), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 24, 2007 On tap at Riverside. Poured a clear, bright golden with a dusting of white head and some nice lacing. Aroma was rather weak with a darker, woodsy honey sweetness.. some vegetal notes. Flavor had honey and some grainy notes beneath.. some other dark sugars make it mildly interesting.. odd sweet finish. Light-bodied with heavier sweet and tart notes surrounding... left an odd taste in the mouth. Not so good.
