Skyview (2901), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Sep 9, 2007 On draught at the brewpub in West Bend, Wisconsin. Pours a clear dark penny amber brew with an average off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, citrus hops and a touch of toffee. Taste is medium bodied, llightly carbonated with a good balance of caramel malt and citrusy hop bitterness. Finish is semi-sweet and then a dry bitter aftertaste. JPDIPSO (4267), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 17, 2007 Hazed bright copper color with a modest off-white head. Earthy malt aromas with some caramel and wheat sweetness. Light caramel and dry malt flavors. Really quite dull, even by amber standards. Somewhat sweet in the finish. Needs some bitterness to balance the sweetness. keoki182 (301), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA Mar 29, 2007 A pretty average amber. Malts dominated both the nose and taste, few hop notes to be found. Pours ruddy burnt sienna color. Somewhat bitter. Quite drinkable due to its inoffensive qualities, of which there are many. A decent choice among their taps. bboeckl (115), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA Mar 2, 2007 On tap at the Riverside. Amber color, good cream-colored lasting head. Great carmel taste with some toffee notes. I did not taste an overabundance of maltiness in this one, though the beer must have had a high specific gravity because the body was fairly heavy. Well balanced beer with a good blend of sweet to bitter. This beer was a fine representative for its catagory and I would definately buy it again. Ughsmash (3071), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jan 24, 2007 On tap at Riverside. Poured a clear, light amber with a short white head and nice lacing. Aroma was very sweet with candy and toffee notes. Flavor had lots of processed sugars and caramel sweetness.. mild wheaty feel.. some floral hoppage left a mild bitter feel around the tongue.. became drier and rather toasty toward the back-end. Light-bodied.. smooth middle and ideal balance with the bitterness.. sticky-sweet finish. Not bad.
