Riverside Protean Pumpkin Ale

LIght copper color with a diminished off-white head. Pronounced banana aromas with hints of wheat and light cloves. LIght watermelon rind flavors, with minimal malt present. Some light ginger also gathered. Very little body.

Sampled on draught at the brewpub in West Bend, Wisconsin. Pours a light copper amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that disipates to a fine white ring with some spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a touch of citrus zest and fruity pumpkin skin. Taste is medium bodied, some light carbonation with a semi-sweet malt and pumpkin flavor. The beer’s pumpkin flavor does not have any spice such as nutmeg or cinnamon, just a simple fruity pumpkin and caramel malt flavor. Finish is fruity, smooth with no bitterness.
