Taste the same along with some caramel and some sweetness. A pretty good APA especially since the label said it won for British Style Pale Ale. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2004 (12 oz bottle) Since I found this on the singles shelf of a small liquor store in Covina, CA (read: probably been sitting there for a few years), I expected it to be spoiled, but somehow, it survived okay. This is actually a fairly flavorful beer, though the age has probably had some impact on the overall flavor. It’s dominated by a strong fruitiness, but it’s also moderately sweet and malty, and lightly bitter. There’s a slight smokiness present midway through, extending into the finish a bit. Medium bodied with a fairly substantial mouthfeel. The nose is also quite fruity and sweet. Dark amber in color with lots of chunky sediment in the beer. Pours with very little head. Great caramel flavor and hoppy aftertaste. A little malty up front. Overall, I thought this to be the best beer I tasted at Riverside. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA

Medium bodied palate, pretty light and well carbonated. A firm fruitines of the malts provides some sweetness and backbone throughout also contributing to a smooth finish. The bitterness in the finish is nicely done just adding a touch of citric crispness. Good session beer.
