Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a murky vibrant violet-red with a large khaki head. The aroma was strong sweet and tart berries. The flavor was strong tangy, sweet and tart blackberries with a touch of biscuit underneath. The finish is long with sweet berry. The mouthfeel is chewy and thick. Very well done! cheapdark (2024), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 12, 2008 Finally got to try this one. Can’t smell the fruit or blackberries but if you search you will find some fruit. Cloudy yellow brown. Barely any carbonation. Tart without being sour or sweet. Finish is not in your face and the blackberry is barely there. An OK fruit beer. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Draught sample at Rivertowne. Medium blackberry fruit aroma with some light hops and a touch of wheat. Cloudy amber with a hint of reddish-copper color. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts with some nice berry flavor, muskier and sweeter than some other blackberry beers. Light pilsner or wheat malt flavor. Good fruity flavor, can tell it’s blackberry. Mild fruity after with some dry bitterness, a tad watery, but definitely a nice summer quencher.
