Rivertowne British Brown

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a medium brown color with a small khaki head. The aroma was lightly bitter and roasty. The flavor was nutty, toasty, malty and a little bitter. The finish was fairly short. Solid.

Nice plain beer aroma. Good initial flavors. Easy to get along with. Brown color. Fun in some reapects. Finish is acceptable and well mannered. An un hoppy brew.

Draught sample at the Pour House. Light malty aroma with a hint of fruity hops. Dark brown clear with thin head. Medium body with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts with light-medium sweetness, some musky grain notes - dusty - with toasted brown sugar and light caramel. Fairly rich though a bit watery - if that made sense. Decent as brown ale goes.
