Spicy, strong beer, made in Montreal by Cheval Blanc under license to Achouffe. Similar to, but not the same as, the classic La Chouffe.

Definite coriander, which is not the recommended spice for men, and detracts from drinkability according to me mates and me. Bit thick and heavy to drink through, and did not particularly match food. Definite cloves, oranges, cinammon, pepper for taste, like a herbal tea.

Doesn’t quite live up to the original, but still is pretty good. A cloudy yellow color gives off a bouquet of oranges, coriander, baking soda. The firm medium body is mildly yeasty, orangey and hints of hot cross buns, ending in a dry orange finish

Nice hazy straw body with some orange glints. White dense head. Wonderful fruity (citrus) and spicy aroma that bears some hints of yeast. Same marvellous taste, but I was expecting a little more from the final. Very nice! I'm just looking forward to rate its belgian sister!

Nice strong banana aroma with a touch of citrus. Initial finger wide head recedes fairly quickly to just cover. Star coloured and hazy as one would expect. Flavour is actually similar to my recollection of La Chouffe although this one is less spicy and seems more sweet citrus and less pear-like. It seems a bit more subdued. I find the flavour on this one lingers a bit more on this one than on the original and that's a bonus. Carbonation is a bit prickly but this has a nice chewy mouthfeel. Very enjoyable. Bottle.

Yeast, banana, alcohol detected in the nose. Very citrusy and fruity (lemon, orange, apricot) with a hint of sweetness. Balanced and refreshing on the first few sips. As it warms, however, the sourness becomes overpowering. The alcohol content is well-hidden in the brew.

Straw yellow and hazy. Fluffy small beaded head. Spicey sweet aroma with fruit, bananas and mild yeast. Effervescent alcohol warmth. Very light yeast. Fruit boozey with some syruppy honey, malt notes. Quality brew, but a tad harsh.

Thanks go out to Rastacouere for sending another beer. Pours a clouded orange amber. Small white head. Nose is spicy and yeasty but with some fruit and lighter honey notes. The tongue is steeped in spice (maybe coriander), some honey, yeast and citrus. Perhaps a wit mixed with a Belgian Strong? Some definite citrus and spice in the finish. Very summer-like Belgian beer. Light and refreshing but a very good beer indeed!

Hazy light orange, quickly dissapearing white bubbly head. Yeasty aroma is of berries with some grainy notes. Flavour peppery with some light sweetness, some sour notes, short dry finish. Light bodied, low carbonation. Not bad. Bottle.
