| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2008 660mL bottle purchased for $4 from Jovi in Gatineau. Pours a cloudy golden brown with enough chunky floaties to build a small house. Aroma is disappointingly weak with just a hint of spice. First taste is nice and yeasty. Solid, rich mouthfeel with Belgian yeast and lightly spiced. Definitely less lemony than a recent batch of the regular Quebec D’Achouffe - although I’m wondering if I had an off-batch of that one.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 2, 2008 Brown with offwhite head. Aroma is spicey and yeasty. Malty and bready with a decent amount of spice in the flavour. Well balanced but lacking any outright specialness. yumyum (124), barrie, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 2, 2008 pours amber brown with little head. Overall seemed to me missing something. It does offer a lot of different flavours, a definite spiciness to it but lacked a little depth? Overall a niche beer for me. I think it would likely go really great with some BBQ but not really one to sit with friends and be savoured. Would by it again to have with some burgers or even steak. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada

pours a clouded brown into the glass, smallish off white cap settles to a surface lace
Aromas of toffee, spice, musty.
Tastes pretty much like it smells..toffee sweet malt, dried fruit, nutty-sour yeast tastes light hopping some spice..wet sweet finish with substantial warming....alcohol hides ’til the finish.
Drinkable enough, a mellowed belgian strong.
