Aroma of dark fruit, candied sugars and toffee. Picked up less in the flavor, but a bit of spices and sugar. A decent brew, have to compare the McChouffe to this one. Sweet yeast and fruit aroma, rather sticky and artificial. Yeast dominates the flavor with a sweet toffee tone. Quite uninteresting. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2005 More amber than brown, this stuff poured with some haziness and a puffy off white head. Aroma is malty with coriander and pepper. Taste is thick with some eartiness, malt and dry bitter orange. A bit on the sweet side with the alcohol nicely masked . Aroma is quite spicy and probably the only things that can make me recall its Belgian cousin. The spice dominates taste but fall a little flat because of thin body and lack of carbonation. I also notice an alcohol burn at the end that I didn’t particularly enjoy. Ungstrup (15260), Frederiksberg, Denmark
