| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 14, 2005 Cloudy amber color, poor head. The aroma is malty and herbal, yeasty; nice but strange. Some malt and caramel, some herbs, too dry for its strength. Drinkable but not impressive. madsberg (5060), Søborg, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2005 Bottled: Orange/amber coloured. Unclear. Spice, coriander, citrus and banana in the aroma. Flavour is yeasty, loaded with alcohol and has some bananaflavours. Ends on a light spiced and malty note, but the flavours are quickly diminishing. Is quite refreshing, but dosn’t match its belgian brother. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2005 Crystal clear, ruby tinted dark brown beer with a thick tan coloured head, fading quickly. Sweet malty aroma, nutty malts, toast, mint, and a touch of cherry. Flavour is also malty, toasted bread with a touch of chocolate and a spicy, yeasty finish. Carbonation is a bit sharp. As it warms, the malt and light spice intensify. A well-balanced, easy sipping brew. mustang3 (254), Whitby, Canada

The taste is malty and sweet with lots of spice and that same hint of apple. Quite enjoyable. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 27, 2004 Unlike the Blonde, this one has a nice toffe malt flavour on top of a very earthy aroma. Fruitcake and brown sugar is also prominent. Far from a superior Belgian strong, this one does rank well. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 28, 2004 Thanks to Dave up there in Quebec for sending me this brew several months ago!
Pours a dark murky amber body and a head of light kaki. The aroma and flavor kind of grouse me out! AS BeanDips husband mentioned, it smells and taste like dog food! Notes of toasted bread, coco, some butterscotch, and totally charred marshmallows… those are the pleasant factors. Then there are the hints of burnt wild rice, and burnt oatmeal… decayed black peppercorn, and iron… almost a blood like flavor! The palate was slick and creamy…but the rest of the brew was BLAAAAAA!
