Commercial Description:
A finely-bubbled beer made from wheat and barley. Like the traditional Belgian "White" it is refreshing, light and slightly fruity. Bottle refermentation imparts a yeast enriched flavor.

Not to be confused with the separate Blanche made by the brewpub Cheval Blanc.

New bottles do not feature "de blé" anymore, but simply La Blanche and Cheval Blanc.

I had a bottle of this in some place in Montreal where they took me to try poutine. Poutine is an excellent way for a french fry to go, by the way. It had the right sharp spicey nose. Light spicey corriander and lots of yeast. Lively on the tongue. Strong enough to accompany the poutine.

Draught pint at an unknown Café on Rue Ontario in Montréal
Hazy clouds with stark white cumulonimbus head, strikingly beautiful. The nose if rich in sugar, white grapes, rich decocted malts and a hallertaur crispy note. The flavor is plenty balanced with tangy yeast notes and their creamy rich partners in crime. Finishes earthy, a little starchy but I found this to be very tasty.

Bottle. Golden color and no head. Wheat aroma. Taste of wheat and lightly spicy. Lively carbonation, noy a bad beer. Bière de couleur doré avec aucun collet. Odeur de blé. Au goût, elle est un peu épicé et goût de blé. Co2 élevé, pas une mauvaise bière, elle manque un peu d’originalité et de goût.

Medium gold in colour with a fair amount of carbonation. The aromas are fairly muted, but there are traces of yeast, citrus and wheat. The flavor component is way more substantial. There is a good balance between the wheat, yeast, citrus, bubblegum, and spice elements. I also noticed a touch of roasted sesame on the finish. A solid wit, and perhaps a bit under-rated.

Pale hazy yellow color, nice head with lacing, wheat aroma, fruity accent of citrus fruits, crisp, medium-bodied, with soft palate, citrus peels and wheat flavors leading to a small pleasant acidity finish.

Cloudy pale yellow beer with a thin creamy white head. Citrusy, coriander aroma, a touch of bubble gum and spicy yeastiness. There is a bit of wheaty aroma as well. Nice creamy mouthfeel, citrus and coriander are prominent with a wheaty finish. Refreshing beer.
