Appearance is rusty golden yellow, with very small head and a very cloudy appearance. Have to admit, had to strain this bugger. Upon viewing the sediment in the bottle, I found just too many chunky yeast bits....
Aroma is relatively plain, and watery. Taste is only slightly more ’deep’. Taste is remiscent of a belgium wit, but very watered down with little or nor flavour. Oh Well.... dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 5, 2004 Great picture of a Meteor screaming toward a man on Earth. Pours deep hazy gold. Busy carb, head is off white fizzy and short lived. Nose is malty, soap, spice (coriander) with honey accents. Some sediment. Good mouthfeel with prickly carb. Green fruity flavours. Yeasty and orange notes. Dry salty finish for sure. Hollow. Not blowing me away for style. presario (3010), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 23, 2004 Orange body and quickly thinning head. Enticing fruit and corriander aroma. Dry and salty finish is the strongest attribute. Corriander up front. Hints of orange zest in the middle. A rare beer in that the flavour is perfectly matched to the promise of the aroma. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | May 22, 2004 650ml bottle. A hazy, amber-orange beer that pours with a white, medium-sized head that mostly fades. Light aroma presents bready malts, herbal and grassy hops, and coriander and orange peel spices. Light-to-medium body with a lively carbonation that contributes to the grainy texture. Cereal grains dominate the malt character and ensure that the use of buckwheat is no gimmick. Crisp, spicy, and somewhat sharp, with a grassy and herbal hoppiness lending support. Interesting enough to warrant sampling, but it’s not something that I would seek out again. 5000 (2638), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2004 Bottle pours a cloudy peach color, mediocre milkish like head, attractive lacing, and with tons of suspended yeasty bits floating about. Aroma is very citrusy, orange peel and curacao, for a German Wheat. Notes of wheat and yeast as well, but not as dominant as the citrus. Forwardly wheatish, full and somewhat chewy, through to the finish I get a yeasty (and slightly citrusy) flavor. This seems more of a Belgian Wit crossed with an American Wheat. Good body and mouthfeel, enjoyable all around. Thanks goes out to Rastacouere for the trade!

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2004 A dark golden buckwheat (think soba) ale with a tantalizing floral spiced nose and subtle hints of buckwheat. The body is full and the buckwheat is very much present but there is also hints of spiced oranges that mix nicely. The finish is dry and buckwheat accented. Not liquid soba, but rather a well balanced American Wheat beer. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2004 Strong spicy nose with some bready yeast and citrus tones also. Hazy golden body with small white fully-diminishing head. Banana, coriander, orange, buckwheat flavours dominate. This is a pretty spicy beer, but very enjoyable. Slightly tart in the finish. Light refreshing body with carbonation just high enough to offer a bit of prickliness on the edges of the tongue to keep it lively. Not a typical hefeweizen at all but definitely enjoyable. Thirst-quenching on a hot and humid summer evening. Bottle.
