Commercial Description:
Coup de Grisou was introduced on the market in October 1996. It is a copper-coloured Ale-type beer, containing 5% alcohol, refermented in bottle. With a potent, explosive taste, this beer has a powerful aroma of buckwheat and coriander giving it an unbelievable density. Bottle refermentation imparts a yeast-enriched flavour. Serve between 6° and 8° C, preferably in a hybrid glass.

Very nice dark golden cloudy (that reminds me Maisels or Schneider Weisse) body with a honest head. Quite present aroma of coriander and buckwheat. Complex but well balanced flavor of fruits (mainly orange), spices and yeast. The final brings some hints of bitterness. This is definitely a non-ordinary 4 season beer you can share with beginner beerophiles.

The body is too cloudy and head is not persistant enough. Taste of spice is heavy but very good. a little bit acid at the end. Good experience and it's a sole beer.

Cloudy orange amber with a medium diminishing white head. I probably should have let it sit a little longer judging from the 'hazy' descriptions in other ratings - it just came in the mail ~7 hours earlier. Fruity aroma of bubblegum, banana, lots of wheat, coriander, spices, and a hint of pepper. Medium body with lively carbonation. Very easy drinking. Nice flavor of bubblegum, grapefruit, orange, banana, plenty of spice - ginger, clove, cinnamon and pepper to name a few, and lots of wheat. Somewhat earthy and musty. A very good beer. Big thanks to Rastacouere for this one!

Hazy dark orange, small off-white head. Aroma is yeasty with some spices. Flavour was spicy, misty coriander with a short finish. Medium body. Not bad. Bottle.

Hazy golden-amber. Persistent tan head. Aroma of buckwheat, coriander, caramel, bubble gum, & fruit (banana?). Medium feel. Earthy, lightly acidic flavour of buckwheat, coriander & fruit. Perhaps a little phenolic.

Copper/orange in colour with some small floaties. Aroma of fruit, yeast, malts, hops, and citrus. Flavour was cirtusy, hoppy and somewhat musty. Finishes with a medium hop bitterness.

Golden orange colour, with a LOT of sediment in the bottle. Aroma of fruit and spice dissipates quickly, as does the head. A bit of an interesting flavour up front, but it doesn’t linger. The aftertaste vanishes quickly. I’m wondering if this bottle survived the trip intact. (my friend picked it up for me in June)
