Commercial Description:
Coup de Grisou was introduced on the market in October 1996. It is a copper-coloured Ale-type beer, containing 5% alcohol, refermented in bottle. With a potent, explosive taste, this beer has a powerful aroma of buckwheat and coriander giving it an unbelievable density. Bottle refermentation imparts a yeast-enriched flavour. Serve between 6° and 8° C, preferably in a hybrid glass.

A fully diminishing small frothy off-white head tops up a hazy medium orange body. Moderate lacing. Few particles. Few small bubbles. Aroma presents malt being medium biscuity while hops are barely noticeable ... Yeast character is light dough. Also, there are evident evocations of ginger/coriander/pepper Initial flavor is medium spice.. coriander while development is medium sweet. Finish is medium . medium body... oily texture... Soft carbonation...

Light amber color. Wheat and corriander aroma. Some yeast. Lively feel that lingers on the lips. Not bad at all.

Ginger spicy aroma and fruity aroma. Great clear beer with moton in it. Really really spicy beer. Some ginger and pepper taste with a tiny fruity flavor. Great strong palate. Will take this beer again anytime.

Saveur très explosif de sarasin et d’épice, un arome riche, un peu amère. Une bonne bière à boire entre amies.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of me. Pours a hazy orange with an average size, somewhat lasting, fizzy white head. Lots of sediment. Aroma of yeast, Belgian wheat, spices (ginger, coriander & pepper), green apples, sugar and malt. The flavour, which follows the aroma, is milder then you’d expect from the aroma and is nice and spicy. Medium bodied. It didn’t blow me away but I enjoyed the spicyness of it and would gladly have it again.

Bottle. Shared with blankboy and tupalev, courtesy of blankboy. Poured cloudy orange-amber with a small off-white head, plenty of floaties. Aroma of funky spices, soap, raw sugar cane, even more spices and light malt. Taste was very light - spice, ash, a hint of sweet fruit, almost like a mild generic belgian witbier - pretty bland. Mouthfeel fairly flat, slightly acidic. I liked the spices, but ultimately weak and bland.

Bottle shared with blankboy and hogtown harry, courtesy of blankboy. Dark yellow, med foamy white head. Subtle wheat and coriander aroma - semi-sweet as well. Medium mouthfeel. Pleasant taste of wheat, yeast, and spice. Well-balanced sweetness, very nice. The finish is disappointing in that it is watery and dry. Otherwise, a very enjoyable beer.

Hazy golden ale with a creamy white head. Peppery celeri salt in aroma, coriander and honey. In mouth, creamy mouthfeel, good malt with coriander and ginger. A smooth one. Delicious with a marinated porkchop.
