Commercial Description:
Coup de Grisou was introduced on the market in October 1996. It is a copper-coloured Ale-type beer, containing 5% alcohol, refermented in bottle. With a potent, explosive taste, this beer has a powerful aroma of buckwheat and coriander giving it an unbelievable density. Bottle refermentation imparts a yeast-enriched flavour. Serve between 6° and 8° C, preferably in a hybrid glass.

Bottle. Nice reddish golden color with nice white head, fully lasting and fair lacing. Wheat, yeast and spicy aroma. Wheat (buckwheat), spicy and alcohol finish, malty and nice bitterness notes, maybe the best of R.J’s beers.

Hazy golden honey color, yeasty, spicy, coriander, fruity of orange peels and peaches with wheaten aromas follow through a medium-bodied mellow palate, fruity of candied oranges, spicy coriander, yeasty leading to a wheatfield and buckwheat accent in a silky finish, marked with a shy bitter hop note.

Cloudy orange-copper with nice, white foam that clings to the glass. Clovey and phenolic aroma thats a bit dusty, with peach and strawberry-banana notes. Dusty, bitter banana flavour with a splash of clove and wheat malt sourness. Hops bitterness comes in at the end. High carbonation and a light to medium body.

A hazy orange beer with a thick off-white head. Aroma shows loads of citrusy coriander, spicy yeastiness as well. Buchwheat is noticible as a sharp layer of spice amongt the other aromas. Flavour of coriander, a bit of orange citrus and a full wheaty mouthfeel. Dry, spicy finish. A good beer that I wish I could get more often.

341ml twist crown bottle. A hard pour puts a cloudly orange-gold ale with a small but puffy cap in your wit glass. Natural abundant small-bubbled effervesense is lively in the glass. Aroma is a whallop of spicey corriander of dry buckwheat malts and a slight mustyness...attention grabbing aroma! front side has an hearty body and smooth mouth feel ...dominated by spice tones coming from the buckwheat husk, yeast and corriander....middle is malty-dry with some earthyness... finish is long with the spice nature returning and pummeling the tongue until the rye-like after tastes kick in...what a ride..great variation on a traditional style...me like varra mucha!

Pours a slightly cloudy orange color with yeast in suspension and a thin, creamy white head. Intriguing aroma of buckwheat, coriander and other spices, there’s also a fruity thing going on there, maybe yeasty too. Flavor of mild banana esters with buckwheat, coriander and other spices. Medium body, smooth texture. Pretty interesting beer, I like the mix between the buckwheat, spices and fruity esters.
