couelur rouge tres trouble
gout:Goute plus les framboises que les fraises je dirais. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Dec 1, 2004 660 ml bottle, picked up the same place tigg got his, Rahman. Lightly cloudy, salmon-mandarin orange color, big quickly dying fizzy white head...sweet strawberry soda aroma seems reminiscent of aspartame...artificial, honeyed and cloying as it warms...watery, lightly fruity, seltzer-water character in the body, nothing beery or malty about it...dry finish. Pretty bad, but I suppose it could be quite old? Then again, it is a fruit beer and this brewery is not the greatest ever... tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Apr 22, 2004 Huge strawberry aroma with an underlying bready yeast. Hazy golden body with fizzy white fully-diminishing head. Good malt base with a tart yeast flavour. Fruit could be more assertive but is definitely there. Some sulfur/phenolics also apparent in the finish which seem to build the more you drink. Very high carbonation is perhaps a bit over the top for my taste. Overall, this is my favourite of the Sainte-Paix series. (Note: This beer was marked retired when I sampled it - not sure whether it has been re-issued or whether this is an old bottle but I picked up the bottle yesterday at a local bottle store with a good reputation - Depanneur Rahman). Bottle.
