CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada May 3, 2003 (660ml Bottle) I was very intrigued by this beer since I did not know that it exists - I had tried the apple and cherry. Pour a cloudy, strawberry body and virtually no head. Aroma of berries but I wouldn't be able to tell without the picture of the blackberries on the label and because it is partially masked by its highly carbonated, soda pop style. Tastes of more of a tart, young red wine with a medium sour finish as opposed to a seasonal beer. No comparison to a lambic but nice for a spring day like today. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 7, 2002 Originally brewed in apple and cherry versions, this is a blackberry (mūres) varation on Cheval Blancs Sainte-Paix. I havent tried either of the others, but I wasnt too impressed with this one. The first pouring from the bottle was overly bubbly, and lacked in flavour or complexity. It just tasted like a light lager cut with a little bit of blackberry juice. The second half of the bottle started out a little more interesting, as I stirred up the yeast and poured it along with the beer, giving it more flavour - but the yeast and blackberry soon combined into an unpleasant medicine flavour. Bleah.
