Poured hazy gold with abundant foam head. Cereal aroma (buckwheat or wheat), wooden. Taste of smoked almonds, malt and brown sugar. Not much maple syrup there. Sticky palate, short lasting. Ok smoked grain beer, not outstanding. Glouglouburp (2877), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

I know this supposedly contains real maple syrup but I didn’t taste it. Brown sugar yes (and a lot of it) but maple syrup no. Actually this beer tastes like grocery stores “sucre à la crème” (scots tablets I think they are called outside quebec). There is also what appears to be leafy hops that blend surprisingly well with the creamy/sugary body. Not bad for what it is. This is like a “Cabane à Sucre” in a bottle, a quebec tradition of mixing beer and maple syrup, an unfortunate tradition if you’ve ever been there when the dancing starts. french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada

Aromas of bread, wood, nutmeg, allspice, pepper. Thin palate, honey dry finish. Light flavors of maple sirup. You can feel the alcohol to the palate as well with a hint of orange peelings. You can definitly taste what you smell. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada

Poured a hazey, burnished amber gold in the glass. Lame cap, poor lacing.
Aroma is primarily dominated with smoked malt but there are minute glints of maple and grain which pierce through it.
Front side is dominated with malt and sweetness burnished with smoke then some maple tastes peek out momentarily mid palate then the finish is wet grainy and smokey.
Actually a nice little brew if you have ever had a fondness for Schlenkerla smoked marzen. It mated well with a Thuringer sausage and Emmenthaler on Rye sandwitch. Diogène (577), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Flavour is rather sweet, dough, smoke, maple syrup, yeast. Too much carbonation. beanmedic (324), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with an average size somewhat-lasting white head. Yeasty aroma with spices, wheat, maple and some light hops. Slightly watery flavour’s a little tart with some spices, maple, malt, fruit and a hint of hops. Light to medium bodied. An interesting attempt but it’s only average. unibrouefan (124), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 21, 2006 Strong spicy and fruity aroma. Orange and dense appearance. Maple Sirup is my favorite part of this beer. I like Maple Sirup. Contrary to an other beer that I tasted in Mondial de la Bière de Montréal (beer that I don’t remember the name), Tord-Vis is good from the first taste to the last.
