| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2006 Dark orange color with medium white head. Yeasty taste (and I’m not a big fan of RJ Yeast) and maple syrup and raosted nuts. Ordinary beer, nothing more. GregClow (2498), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 30, 2005 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, jerc & tupalev - courtesy of jerc. Cloudy yellow-gold colour. Aroma is quite yeasty, with a non-descript sweetness that may or may not be maple, and a hint of lemon. Flavour is fairly sweet, with a prominent yeastiness, and some citrus in the finish. Like other RJ beers I’ve had, it sounds really interesting on paper, but the result is somewhat underwhelming. tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 29, 2005 Bottle. Dark orange, no head, flat looking. Not much in aroma - some orange peel, some spice. Surprisingly carbonated mouthfeel. Yeasty taste, along with many Saison qualities of musty spice and malt. Ok, but fairly bland and average, if not a little odd. Why the ! ? Poured a murky orange with a white head. Big nose - cigarette ash, alcohol, sharp yeast and sweet malt, lemon oil - like a wheat beer on HGH, very strong esters released on warming. Flavour much like the aroma, but blended - lots of pepper, cloves and other spices on warming; very lively mouthfeel. If tortured I’d confess to a smidge of maple in there - but hell, I’d confess that Olga Korbutt was in there with a bamboo kebab skewer up my flue ... jerc (3945), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 29, 2005 Hazy golden orange body with a big white head that fades quickly. Actually looks a bit like a pale ale wort if you homebrew. Very yeasty aroma, diluted maple and caramel. Sweet with yeasty, vaguely citrusy undertones. Hints of maple. Average palate. Pleasant but average. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 22, 2005 500 ml bottle. Hazy, pretty nearly opaque dark amber-maple with lots of small bubble action and a lasting small creamy top...maple, vanilla, and light doughy yeast in the aroma...body moderately sweet, lightly smoky, with touches of that maple syrupiness towards the finish, rather thin...late wateriness not helped by strong carbonation, too much of a maple-seltzer sort of consistency.
