Commercial Description:
A traditional English-style brown ale, but with more body. Its deep brown color comes from a combination of Chocolate and Black malts. Tall, dark and smooth – the perfect cure for the domestic beer blahs. 5.6% abv

Bottle pours perfect clear brown color with light tan head. Aroma is real nice. Roasty chocolate comes to mind. Too much carbonation and and is a bit thin. I’m starting to see a trend with this brewer on the mouthfeel. Flavor is brown sugar, nuts, slight chocolate, and finishes dry. This is a better beer than the overall ratings suggest.

Bottle from State Line. pours turbid deep brown with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is malt, brown sugar, cacao, earhy. Tastes scotch malty, with brown sugar, cacao, and walnutty notes.

Bottle from Whole Foods in Greenville, SC. Really not that bad of a brown ale. Pretty solid flavors of toasted malts with a bit of bitter hops leading to a dry finish. Slightly watery, but overall not bad.

pours brown with a film of head, not much lacing. Malty with hints of sugar...it is what it is...

Bottle. Pour brown with a short white head. Nose is chocolate, nutty notes, earthy aromas and toasted malt. Taste is spicy and earthy hops, chocolate covered nuts, light toffee and toasted malt. Body is light with a soft carbonation and a slick overall feel. Ends with more toasted malt, cocoa, nuts, spicy and earthy hops, and toffee. An average brown ale.

Clear brown body and a nearly nonexistant head. Malty, lighlty toasty, caramel aroma. Thin watery palate. Inital flavor of malt and caramel - quickly fades away. Nearly nonexistant aftertaste - just a little sweetness. Not that impressive of a brown ale.

Brewed in the USA...... Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo !! pours a chestnut / mahogany color with an ultra thin off white head. Aroma of roasted malts and caramel. Taste of toast and nuts. The mouthfeel is kind of dry & chalky. It is not the cure for the beer blahs.

Pours clear mahogony with almost no head. The smell was a lightly roasted with a hint of sour peach. Maybe a sanitation issue? Very little flavor, just a hint of toast. Watery palate, slightly chalky. Possibly the worst one in the variety case.
