Decent taste, but not the most drinkable beer. Not as enjoyable by the end for some reason, ready to move on to something else. Medium bodied with light alcohol flavor. I thought this was trying to be a double IPA. Not as full flavored as expected for the alcohol level. Not especially memorable.

Draft at Charlie Mopps. Darkish amber with a small ring of foam. Aroma of caramel, citrus and pine resin. Flavor is a nice blend of the same, with some roast malt notes as well. Near-medium body is mostly smooth and well-bittered on the finish.

12oz. The best of the flight, by far. Nose was the most intense, being loads of straight malt and sweet caramel goodness. Body follows suit, some roasted malt hesitations and good gummy bitter citrus fruit. Body has surprising lift in carbonation and overall a very pleasant beer. Does not show the alcohol at all, I truly thought it was a 4-5% brew like the others.

Pours orange/red with a small 1/16 inch fairly white head. Smells of alcohol and malts. First sip is rather bland with the malts over powering the hops. A slight note of fruits is present in this light bodied beer The 8.5% ABV is very well hidden - unfortunately so is much of the flavor. This tastes more like a session beer than a high gravity. Not the punch I want in an DIPA.

Pleasant floral hop aroma. Orange amber color, a bit hazy. Not much head. Bitter but balanced with the malt. There’s just a touch of chocolate flavor in the finish that works nicely. The use of dark malt and the color are out of range for a DIPA, but the beer never actually claims to be a DIPA, it may be better suited for the "American strong ale" category on ratebeer. Anyways I think its a pretty solid big beer for the price.

Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body with a small, fine, white head. Smell: Crystal malt scent with a trace of toastiness and various restrained hop notes. Taste: There’s a pop of sweet, toasty, caramel-coated maltiness upfront followed by a hoppy (though not overly hoppy) blend of hop-related flavors: pine, florals, and citrus. Medium bitterness present, which leaves you left with a bittersweet finish at the end. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-low carbonation. Drinkability: A fine, tasty brew, but those of you seeking a really punchy hop character or a coma-inducing level of hop bitterness will be left disappointed and full of rage. Instead of a double IPA it’s more like a one-and-a-half IPA.

pours a dark murky copper/amber under a large cream yellowish head. aroma is a little sweet and candy-like with some floral hops, tropical fruit, and plenty of caramel and honey. toasted nuts are the first thing that come to mind in the flavor. some burnt caramel and plenty of piney hops. pretty sweet with maybe some leftover residual sugars but man this stuff has character. not your usual 2ipa or ipa. the malts are very interesting. i love the nutty- toasty character.

Bold malt sweetness. charming hop pine flavor. Balanced very well with the wonderful hop character. bold and complex. simple and refreshing. It is a feeling of relief to know that a beer this tasty is made close to my home. Cheers!
