Grainy, toasty nose and taste with precious little else to speak of other than the painfully apparent macro likeness.

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Ok, I thought this was the same as the confederation ale so i didnt even look on here and check to see it if had it own rating.
That also lends itself to the fact that it wasnt much different from the confederation ale. its was a pretty run of the mill ale. Some bready malts, and faint hops. a pretty bland beer. Doesn’t really have much going on. matt7215 (971), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 11, 2009 355ml bottle from the LCBO. peter is a good guy and he packages his beer in 355ml bottle instead of those lousy 341ml standard bottle that run amuck in this province. the pour is light orange with a white head. the carbonation is minimal. the aroma is of sweet toffee and caramel malts just slightly burnt. the flavours shows the same caramel malts. the hopping is minimal but does balance the finish. this is a good example of the "irish ale" style although the "amber ale" classification also works. keep up the good work peter. blankboy (3207), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Bottle [12oz]. Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size fizzy white head. Aroma of buttery caramel malt first followed by light hops and toasted grain. Flavour of caramel malt, toasted grain and a light, short bitter finish. Average bodied. As far as Ontario Ambers go it’s fine, but it’s just an O.K. beer. Bejaaamin (110), London, Ontario, Canada
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 16, 2009 appearance is a light gold/amber. nose isnt much to write about, some caramel, some vanilla, malty. taste is weak, nothing much to say at this point. decimator (49), Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 29, 2009 From the OCB discovery pack no. 2. 355ml bottle poured into a mug. Poured a hazy golden brown with a 1/4" head that quickly dissipated. (Packaging said this beer is amber. Really?) Sweet aroma of mostly caramel and some malts. Sweet taste of honey, malts and a hint of rotten fruits. Very little bitter. Smooth with low carbonation. It’s drinkable but I probably won’t be having another one anytime soon. The flavor just isn’t complex enough beyond the sweetness. The taste reminds me too much of a macro honey lager drunk straight from the bottle. TipsyMcStager (928), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 19, 2009 Half of a 12oz bottle. Amber with a thin head. Not much to the aroma. Thin flavour with a little roughness. A bit of vanilla and caramel. Almost some soapy dishwater and hops. I’m afraid that if the flavours were strong the score would go down. jerc (3936), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Light grassy notes to the hops, light floral touches. (6+) Flavour is similar, dry malt base and light bitterness. Average palate. Quaffable but a bit dull. On tap at Hart House
