Bottle from Utobeer, London. Dark brown body with big head. Barley nose. Very creamy texture. Prickly mouthfeel. With a nice plummy taste. Some chocolate too. Very nice.

Aug 20, 2008 Had a strong smell of both malt and alcohol. With a slight nuttyness. It was a deep red colour with a thin off white head. Tasted of liquorice, malt, and alcohol with a hint of plums.Smooth. Nice beer but 1 was enough.

There should be more 8.5 % beerz on the UK market.Too much of that stale 5 % subdued bull shit :):I really enjoyed Old Tom Ale.I reckon I drank it too cold. As I think this is a ’room temp beer’ if ever there was one . Dark and robust. Lotta chocolate and raisins. Hearty stuff.
