Pours dark, murky brown with big foamy beige head that fades slowly and is noticeably unfiltered. Initial aroma is a lot of chocolate, some coffee and belgian yeast. Taste is nice roasted coffee, some dark chocolate undertones, and throughout the glass I got a hint of wintergreen. Very complex, smooth, and sweet. I didn’t really taste the alcohol, but I felt it after the second sip Ƒst beer of the night). Very pleasant brew. fobar (69), Søgne, Norway

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 15, 2009 Bottle... Poured deep, dark reddish/brown with a thin, light brown head. Aroma of dark fruits such as plums and raisins with a big ester/yeast quality. Thick, full palate with a delicate carbonation. Noticeable vanilla flavors up front for me. Not much going on with hops here, dark malt sweetness with some fruits. A wine-like booze character in the finish. Hbuck72 (124), Chickasha, Oklahoma, USA

Pours a beautiful dark cloudy brown, with a bit of tan head, some lacing. smell is of fermented fruits, grains, almost brown sugar, with warm alcohol notes. taste is artfully balanced between the grains, yeast, and fruit notes. Mouthfeel is full-bodied yet not too heavy. Probably the most flavorful and well balanced beer that I have ever had! aftertaste is pleasant and warm. Systembolaget (11), Malmoe, Sweden

Very dark, medium head. Very perfumy aroma: fruits, doughy yeast, caramel, plums, woody honey. Flavours: light caramel sugar and spices. Explosion in the mounth.
What a superb beer !
I’m from Belgium and must admit I have rediscovered this fabulous beer. Only one negative point: too much alcohol ... it’s jumping to the head. You always feel something after driniking a Rochefort 10. yfront (12), Sweden

Very dark pour, head disappears in seconds (unfortunatley).
Nose of alcohol, yeast and plums.
Complex taste of raisin, chocolate, dark malts, oak, apples and caramel. Excellent carbonation with tiny bubbles of yeast.
Love the aftertaste.
A very nice beer, and the best one among the Rochefort’s 6/8/10 (and the 12). mixos (64), Greece
