Rich nose of raisins, smoke, and brown sugar. Flavors run the range from blackberries to leather to licorice to grapes. There’s so much going on in your mouth, this is a beer to be savored and appreciated. It would pair amazingly well with flavorful meats. Gethinbeer (1003), Nova Scotia, Canada

Deep walnut colour with a frothy tan head. It looks fantastic and formed how you would like a beer too. Rich syrup like texture. Full bodied flavour. Spices, fruit and hops. This beer is like sitting next to a fireplace. It makes you fell warm and content. Its like a fine sherry or port. Its complex smooth finish makes for a fine ale. Its almost perfect. I love this beer. TheDudeAbides (7), USA does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 16, 2009 The best beer! Drank 2 bottles of this for my birthday. Next day I had Westvleteren Abt 12. Both are equally as good, but this one is a little cheaper and easier to find. Can’t get any better than this. Have someone take a picture of you drinking and enjoying this, not a beer to drink alone at 2am while watching QVC. Drink it with your friends. Let them have a little sip (very little) , then save the rest for yourself and let them continue drink their beer, knowing that your lips are kissing ecstasy. Let your friends finish drinking his/her PBR. Little pieces of heaven await for you on the bottom, sediment is delicious. Warm chocloate with a hint of vanilla, those monks know what their doing, RockStrombo (9), livorno, Italy does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 15, 2009 why i have to repeat things that are written in other comments?

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2009 Pours cola-color with a LOT of styrofoam-cotton head. Aroma is dark, rich, bitter raisins, spice, and grapefruit. Maybe a hint of ripe banana? Wow, flavor is strong alcohol, I may be drinking this at too warm a temperature. Spice and raisins are still there, but the alcohol overwhelmed that first sip. A follow up gives a hint of anice and spice, but the alcholol still pervades. Very warm boozy finish, not as well disguised as I would have hoped for. I think this is a better beer to start your night on, not so much as a closer...
