| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2009 Pours cola-color with a LOT of styrofoam-cotton head. Aroma is dark, rich, bitter raisins, spice, and grapefruit. Maybe a hint of ripe banana? Wow, flavor is strong alcohol, I may be drinking this at too warm a temperature. Spice and raisins are still there, but the alcohol overwhelmed that first sip. A follow up gives a hint of anice and spice, but the alcholol still pervades. Very warm boozy finish, not as well disguised as I would have hoped for. I think this is a better beer to start your night on, not so much as a closer... BgThang (118), Texas, USA

had access to all I wanted on a recent business trip and passed. it has the spice, clover, raisin, cotton candy dark fruits. Was good but not better than westy 12

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 7, 2009 Pours a deap dark brown to black color and a light brown havy head. Aroma is of roasted malts and some spices. Flavors are complex, very spicy with caramel and a strong alcohol hit, ripe fruits like banana and figs, but very smooth and a little pleasant sweetness.
It has a very warm finish, but there are soo much pleasant flavors it is a real peasure to drink, it is really a gastronomic drink, its really one of the best beers. petematte46 (227), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 6, 2009 Extremely complex and wonderful aroma. Can smell mango, pear, apples, a bit of strawberry even. Pours a cloudy brown with a thin head. Taste is very spicy at first taste, but the more you drink it, the most you are able to recognize and appreciate the more subtle flavours. Even 10-20 seconds after taking a sip, I am still picking up different flavours. Fantastic beer tokyogoat (576), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2009 330ml poured into tulip
Pours a reddish brown with a gigantic thick and creamy head.
I cant get much on the nose of this one. Light yeast and apple.
First sip sucked.
Second sip isnt too bad.
Alcohol is just not good. It tastes like a quad that someone poured isoprophyl alcohol into.
Nice mix of spices, but to me they just are too much.
I might be one of the only people on earth that prefers Chimay Blue to Roch 10.
Tastes like it needs 3 - 4 years on it.
ok, just took another sip. just dont like it. damn :o( TampaBrew (889), Tampa, Florida, USA

Tastes of raisin, belgian yeast, dark fruits, roast malt, dark candy sugars and plum. Mouthfeel is rich and smooth. Oily. I LOVE THIS BEER! OzarkElmo (134), Poplar Bluff, Missouri, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 3, 2009 330 ml pour into chalice. Moderate, yeasty off-white head. Very deep, dark brown pour. Definite aroma of dark caramel, ripe banana peel. Malt, caramel and alcohol on the nose. Wow! the alcohol hits you at the very end of the sip. Smooth beer, very flavorful. Drinking this around 60 degrees. I think I’m having a religious experience here. The flavor of this heavenly brew is simply - OUTSTANDING. All I know is I have come a very long way from the macro brews I consumed 6-8 months ago - CHEERS and God Bless the Trappist Monks!
