Pours dirty brown with very little head. Pleasant amount of carbonation. Fruit aroma in there...banana? Good beer. JanVittrup (151), København V, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Nice foamy head, fine bubbles, unclear golden brown liquid. Head quickly settled, but this beer spilled over when opening - I must have mishandled it.
Horse/leather aroma(!) Not very strong aroma.
Wonderful round flavour, works well with the aroma(!) Not bitter, the sweetness not overwhelming bit
interesting - not just malty. Some alcohol warming at the end, but no alcohol taste. Nice job.
Medium body, not much fizz (but my bottle was bad, so I cannot give it full points)
A symphony with a nice finish. In no way bombastic, but rounded and interesting. Mostly due to spices, I would think.
Taste is like a smooth acceleration to high speed, followed by a prompt soft breaking to zero. After a few glasses I feel the breaks are turned on a little to quickly.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2009 Dirty brown pour was interesting. Aroma of fruits. Complex taste with many different flavors going on (toffee, apple, spices). Good finish. Ryan82SM (264), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 11, 2009 Aroma of ripe apple, brown sugar and perhaps toffee. Appearance was well described by "Cirrhosis", except I had a bit more head in mine, similar to the other Rocheforts. Toffee was predominant up front, with some ripe apple, bread and a light alcohol finish, not as well hidden as the 8 or 10. Palate was a rolling bubbly sensation, much like the others. The weakest of the batch, but still a good offering. Cirrhosis (623), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 11, 2009 Light swampy clear brown with grey chunks, a very thin noisy cap disappeared after only a few seconds, I wonder if I aged the “6” to long. Mild banana some clove, a very thin alcohol aroma makes up this very mild aroma. Highly carbonated and slightly thin feel aren’t wowing this mouth feel. Tasty banana and slight spice mild alcohol, after taste is clean. Slightly bitter finish with a sweet beginning, taste is over all way to mild but is highly drinkable. Must re review with a fresher bottle because when I had an bottle of this from the same batch last year it was way more tasty. i will say this tasty but below average for the style. hobbersr (412), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 5, 2009 Pours a muddy brown with orange/yellow highlights. Head dissipates quickly. Aroma is slightly funky. Nose has orange, plums, biscuits, lemons and toffee. Tastes kind of muddy. There are some plums and other dark fruit on the palate. Finish is dry and clean with a good amount of anise seed. Mouth feel is almost flat, not what I would expect from a Trappist. The description makes it sound good... but it really fell flat. Bad Bottle??? Need more time??? I guess I will have to re-visit this one in the future. That being said, it wasn’t terrible... vtafro (477), , New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 4, 2009 Bottle. Last of the three Rochefort beers. Was a very good beer, just doesn’t stack up against the other offerings. MrGGen (243), Italy
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jun 2, 2009 Schiuma mediamente evanescente. Colore marrone scuro, molto frizzante.Gradazione alcolica e molto profumo di fiori. Deciso il gusto, note di caffè, liquirizia, cacao amaro e fiori secchi. Complessa, potente e molto piacevole. Non certo da meno delle due "sorelle maggiori"
