Not much to the aroma either, some raisin and sugar notes. OK but nothing special, grew a little on me as I had more. Snojerk321 (1999), San Diego, California, USA

Pours a completely hazy swamp water brown with a faint reddish hue. Some tree fruits and a hint of booze on the nose. Flavor was much of the same, a little underwhelming. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 21, 2009 Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Lightly tanned head; huge, dense and lasting. Nice laceworks. Reddish, misty, dark amber colored body. Apple-ish fruit aroma up front. Fresh yeast, dusty hops and a dry, doughy maltiness to follow. Taste is quite yeasty, medium sweet, with a rounded malt body and a crisp fruitiness. Alcohol well masked. Fresh in the mouth, due to the relatively high carbonation level. A very well-crafted Belgian. Easy. Dangerously high drinkability. swooper (454), Kladno, Czech Republic

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2009 Aroma is sweet and inviting, color is darkish a bit cloudy. Lots of carbonation. Complex flavor, with the hinted notes of coffee/toffee/chocolate just the right amount to appeal to my tastes. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Good one! Fin (3441), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 18, 2009 Bottle, picked up at Bellingers Jet Garage, Grove, nr Wantage, Oxon 17-05-09 consumed later that day Pours mid/dark brown with off-white head. Aroma is a little bit candy sugar and some sticky fruits. Taste really surprised me in that at 7.5% I found this to be quite thin and insubstantial and lacking somewhat, some people my say subtle I suppose. It tasted a little too sweet, malty and caramel and in truth I found it quite disappointing and a tad boring, a real surprise to me I was sure that this would be a nailed on hit as I’m sure that I’ve had it frequently before over the years (but not for some time) and rather enjoyed it. Maybe the Robinsons Chocolate Tom I had beforehand ruined the palate? A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0 terrybail (339), London, Ontario, Canada
