Like Rochefort 10, so I figured I’d try their Dubbel (after liking Chimay Red, another trappist dubeel quite a bit). Pours a dark hazy brownish copper color with a high offwhite head that dissipates quickly enough. Smell reminds me so strongly of Rochefort 10, but is of caramel, raisins, dried fruit, and red grapes. Tastes reminds me of a red wine, but with a sweet raisin-like flavor to it. Very interesting, especially the bite it has (which is neither alcohol nor hops), but I think I like Chimay Red more. jfb (420), Weihenstephan, Germany

Midlle brown, nice head with crude foam, fruity nose, a bit maltsweet, almost dry beer. Limited hopfulness. Balanced and fine starter. A logical add to the assorti of Rochefort with its 10 and 8. Knowing them, 6 will not surprise you. judasbeer (250), Budapest, Hungary
