Appearance: Lots of visible carbonation, head quickly dissipates leaving behind a ruby red body, the visible carbonation quickly disappeared. Aroma: Wine like with tobacco, malt, yeast, a little alcohol, strawberry and hops. Flavour: Woah, what an unusual flavour, perfume, roses, tobacco, chocolate, hops, lots of carbonation. Just a nice marriage of flowers and malt. Long, lingering flowery malt finish. Lovely. danielst (152), Vienna, Austria
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Dark brown colour, incredibly fast disappearing, fizzy head. Aroma of wine and dried fruits, perhaps raisins, plums and figs - light caramel note. Chocolatey-fruity, roasted flavour with a dry finish and a dominant alcoholic note. Not overly complex to me - actually somewhat disappointing. illidurit (895), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2009 11.2 oz bottle poured into a goblet. Rather light color for the style. Hazy pumpkin orange instead of the traditional medium brown. Nice beige head leaves gobs of lace. Aroma is essentially a fruit basket. Grapes, pears, apples, figs, dates. Flavor contains many of the same notes but also a caramel maltiness, lots of yeast, and some alcohol. Mouthfeel is very effervescent, which makes it hard to drink until the beer has breathed for several minutes. donfardz64 (427), Wellington, New Zealand
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 18, 2009 330mL bottle from Regional. Pours deep amber/red, very vigorous carbonation yet head does not linger.
Fruity barley wine-esq nose with dark cherries and apricot, bready malt note with a spicy kick.
In the mouth, it is very spritzy on the tongue. Bready malt flavour dominates, some weak fruits, some bitter hops on the finish.
It’s a very drinkable strong ale, and no alcohol flavour really comes through. Yet the complexity of flavours you get in the 8 and 10 are not there. carruthm (1167), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Light amber color with a quickly disappearing head. Muted aroma but a very pleasing fruit taste, mixed with a good malt balance. Muggus69 (566), Sydney, Australia

Beer info: Bottled in brown 330ml bottle 7.5% abv BB not sure
Sampling Notes:
Served chilled in chalice.
Pours a huge, rocky, dense persistant offwhite head atop a bronze body that becomes ridiculously murky with sediment.
The nose on this thing! WOW! Particularly yeasty I guess you’d say, perfumey citrus almost tea-like, ripe stonefruits peaches and apricots, stewed fruits too, rich underlying caramel maltiness. Very complex, hard to know what to expect but i’m excited!
Velvety palate, smooth, with a solid length behind it, though noticeably smaller than the likes of the 10, bit drier towards the finish.
Amazing flavour; caramalised banana, burnt toffee, fig, cream, phenolic spice, a nuttiness, citric tartness, hints of herb. Its just so complex and inviting, and before I know it, its gone!
A truely awesome beer from a truely awesome brewery! Can’t wait to try the others once again in the near future. tdcritch (112), Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 4, 2009 Not a bad little beer. Smelled like fig and plum. Poured a reddish brown with a fairly decent head. Not as good as the 10 or 8. But different in its own way. Would drink again. maxpizzo (44), Italy
