Pours dark brown with a thick off white head.Smells like plums, prunes, and all of the usual dark fruit smells. Sweet taste in the beginning with brown sugar, and dark fruits like raisins, figs, and dates dominating. There is a slight amount of bitterness that barely comes out in the finish.

Poured from 11.2oz bottle into Chimay chalice. Aroma - Aroma of fermented fruit-apples,figs,apricots. Notes of caramel as well. Appearance - Slightly cloudy, brownish red in color; similar to the appearance of unfiltered apple juice. Bubbly head that lasts and lasts. Nice lacing. Flavor - Complex yeasty tastes of apples, figs, clove with notes of caramel and chocolate. Nice balance of sweet and tart. Palate - Light on the palate. A bit slick but slightly effervescent as well. Overall – Not one of my favorites, but tasty nonetheless. Worth a try.

Sampled from bottle. Pours a hazy brown with orange. Head is very tall, delicate and frothy. Rochefort 6’s mouthfeel is buttery smooth, much of which can be attributed to its deluxe, small-pearl carbonation. Flavor has dried fruit (especially raisin), some nuttiness, and heavy cream. Overall, this Rochefort is like its stronger siblings 8 and 10, but without quite the chewy body or intricate flavoring. The result is two-sided: increased accessibility/drinkability, yet diminished luxuriousness/complexity.

33cl bottle. Light brown color, off-white head. Aroma is caramel, yeast, light and dark fruit. Same on the flavor, as well as a few spices. Not as intense as the 8 & 10 but really nice. Awesome smooth mouthfeel and easy to drink.

Bottle from Sandbar, Manchester. Hazy lIght chocolate appearance with thick, lasting beige head makes this a thing of beauty. Chocolate malt aroma with oak overtones and plenty of dark fruit. Spicy muscovado and dried fruit predominate on the tongue with a drawn out bitter finish. Similar flavours to the 8 and 10 only a little more subtle. Very light on the palate for 7.5% makes it dangerously drinkable. A little in the shade of its bigger brothers but a fine beer nevertheless.

pours a deep ruby-brown color with a very thick foamy white head that dissipates quickly but returns with a bit of agitation. aroma is sweet with a touch of caramel, hops and a hint of sweet melon. flavor is also sweet with caramle and candy sugar and subtle spicy hops. nice mouthfeel but the finish is a bit too sweet and candylike.

Pours light brown in color with a small head. Alcohol comes through a little bit on the nose with hints of fruit. Fairly light in the body, dry, but an overall nice flavor.

Bottled 33cl. Courtesy of Bov. Appearance: It pours a murky brown beer with a small, quick diminishing beige head. Not much lacework. Aroma: Complex nose with hints of tomato, old cigarette smoke, home made caramel and pineapple. Flavor and palate: Slightly watery. High carbonation. Blueberries, incense, sage, rosemary, home made caramel and pineapple appearing. Malty. Spritzy palate. Slight acidity. Highly drinkable. Malty finish. Overall impression: The palate feels inappropriate. Surprisingly light bodied. Otherwise very pleasant. Thanks Bov!
