A old bottle from a friends beer keller. The carbonation was not as high as expected and the foam was also rather small and short. Much perfumes in the aroma. The taste was too sweet and much maltiness to give a big body.

Rochefort 6: Bottle: Pours a leathery brown with a vinous red tint. Aroma is mild of maltiness, chocolate, fruit, and a little sherry. Tastes malty with chocolate, fruit, etc. I want to think that there is more to it, but it is so balanced and blended that I can’t get any further. Nice and pure, but not overly amazing.

11.2oz bottle. Pours a cloudy honey-hued brown with a billowy but fleeting off-white head. Aroma is sweet and earthy, with hints of dark fruit, crisp apples, roasted malt, and candy. Taste is creamy and full, with a comparatively mild flavor of caramel, roasted malt, candy, and dark fruit giving way to a long finish of honey and warming alcohol. Not quite as robust as the 8 or the 10, but still a well-executed beer.

330 mL bottle. Pours brown with a medium, fizzy off-white head that vanishes rapidly. Aromas of tart apple and raisin. Like the higher-gravity Rocheforts, the flavor is primarily sweet caramel balanced with dark fruits, with yeasty flavors in the background. Leaves an aftertaste exactly like honey. Not quite as complex as Rochefort 8 and 10, but a very nice beer in its own right.

Pours a cloudy dark honey and brown with a large foamy off-white head, leaves a creamy fine bubbled lacing on the glass, a generous amount of sediment in the bottle, has a very nice presentation, aroma of malt, light raisins, bruised apples(?), yeast bread, some light chocolate notes and cake aroma? faint banana to and light candy fragrances, flavors of malt, bread, faint caramel and candy sweetness, yeast, alcohol phenols deliver pepper to the palate at the finish and persists thereafter with some pepper bitterness, has a good mouth feel, is creamy on the mouth, I felt some alcohol warmth at the back of the mouth which I found surprising for a 7.5% alcohol ale but this is not a problem and did not take away from the enjoyment of this drink, a very nice drink but this did not wow me like I hoping it would but I do recommend trying this brew.

Brown-reddish hazy appearance with a medium foamy beige head. Nice aroma of toffe, roasted malt and coffee beans, some caramel and vanilla. Smooth mouthfeel with a well balanced roasted taste of malt and coffee-beans, nice caramel and vanilla, some dried fruits.

Brown color with very quick vanishing head. Aroma have notes of yeast and fruit. When the beer enters the mouth it is an easy drinkable one with a well balanced taste of light roasted malt, prickling fruit and a thin slice of yeast. A good light beer but other Trappistes have more to offer.
