Poured a light hazy brown with a very light brown head. Aroma is of candy sugar and some spices. Flavor is sweet and spiced but is very boozy.

Poured from an 11.2oz bottle and served in a tulip. This beer poured a murky mahogany hue with a lasting head of tight, fizzy tan foam. A small amount of lacing was left clinging to the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of fresh citrus, candi sugar, honey, raisins, and a touch of sweet alcohol. The flavor consisted of caramel, candi sugar, figs, raisins, oranges, graham cracker, and mild alcohol. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with crisp, tingly carbonation. A highly quaffable brew that was complex and tasty.

33cl bottle from Mr. Dunderbaks (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark brown with a one finger tan head that dissipates quickly but laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of yeast, grain, raisins, plums, ripe fruit. Taste is earthy with notes of wood, chocolate, malt, coffee, dark fruit. Light to medium-body with a smooth slightly bitter finish.

Poured mostly brown with some lighter ruby highlights peeking through the turbidity. The head was slightly off-white, full and creamy. The aroma was the expected Belgian yeast with light spice, apples and grapes. The flavor was yeasty, spicy, raisins and some sugary grape soda. The mouthfeel was super nice, a medium bodied beer that was quite refreshing to drink with a clean finish.

Bottle into chalice. Pours murky brown with a two-finger off-white, pillowy head that stays awhile. Aroma is understated - spicy yeast, dark fruit, caramelized brown sugar, barest hint of cocoa. Taste is sweet, up front, a little thin and watery - spicy yeast, cocoa, brown sugar, with dark fruit coming out on the back end alongside the yeast. Finish is bittersweet dark fruits, lingering spicy yeast, cocoa, and a hint of alcohol. Mouthfeel varies - watery at times, creamy at others, with an understated carbonation that fits well. Excellent beer, but 8 is still my favorite of the trio.

A good beer for what it is, but I was expecting better. reddish golden color with an inch foamy, fizzy head that fades quickly. aroma - tart, dried fruit, malt, licorice, some sublte spice. taste - subtle, but complex. raisins, malt, sugar, w/ licorice becoming more present towards the finish. mouthfeel - milky and creamy with a nice amount of carbonation. finish - milky and creamy with the taste of licorice and alcohol. Again, this beer had a lot going on, but it was too subtle for me, not rich enough. I’m gonna stick to the rochefort 8.

Amber pour with a fizzy and quickly dissapating head. Dark fruit aroma, especially raisins. Flavor is sweet and same as the aroma. Palate is rather light and fizzy. A little disappointing, but I guess that happens if you drink the 10 and the 8 first.
