| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of both light and dark fruits, apples and raisins most notable, some grape. Flavor gets bolder and richer, adds caramel, toffee, nuttiness. Palate robust, yet this 7.5er remains utterly quaffable, not in a slug it down way, but in a refreshing, gimme that next little sip way. Luscious. durhambeer (1232), Durham, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Bottle. Muddy bright brown pour with smaller head than expected. Aroma of candied sugar, malt, caramel, toffee, clay, diapers, apples. Similar tasting notes with added cinnamon notes and more sugar. The candied sugar overwhelmed this beer for me, overshadowing the malt notes that I wanted to taste and smell. Reminded me of Unibroue stuff in that way. I almost really enjoyed this beer, but just couldn’t get over the abundance of fruity sugar. chimplechamp (465), Oslo, Norway

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 8, 2008 This is a very good beer. It pours a dark brown, with a small off-white head. Aroma is of sugary dark fruit with noticeable apple/ sweet sugar presence. Very drinkable, it goes down very easy and is light on the mouthfeel. Very good and relatively inexpensive for a Trappist Beer, let alone a Rochefort. Bullit (1392), Glasgow, Scotland

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Bottle best before February 21, 2012. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a small, though fluffy, white head. The aorma is very nice with hints of chocolate, figs, bubblegum, and light spices. I’m surprised at the smoothness and balance in the flavor. This is one of the most tasteful dubbels I’ve sampled. The sweeter chocolate and caramel character is very evident in this one, though not overdone. A bit of vanilla wafer flavor comes out and light hints at coriander and clove come out in the finish. Hints at fruits are throughout. This is really nice, surprisingly drinkable. IDunno19 (78), Ames, Iowa, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2008 Updated: Oct 10, 2008This is my first experience with truly coveted beer and I have to say I am absolutely starstruck. It pours a light, pillowy white head with a dark brown, almost caramel/chocolate color. The aroma is similar with a chocolate/caramel note and a slight hint of malt. The flavor is absolutely fantastic with a dark chocolatey body and a hint of caramel and hops. Barely a taste of alcohol. Again, a little starstruck but I’m fully confident I’ll try the 8 and 10 as soon as they’re in stock. IlanMan (850), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2008 Great brew. Poured a dark golden with a light tan head. Aroma of citrus, flowers, caramel, and malt. Flavor is delicious and full with a lot of malt, some fruit, and a hint of bitterness towards the end. Caramel and roasted malt dominate the flavor as well. Very nice brew. Alcohol well hidden. Would buy again.
