hazy dark brown with only a mild tan head. very nice flavor of caramal malt with hints of raisons, molasses, toffee. after-taste is a little peculiar, similar to the 8, it kind of leaves you slightly dissatisfied. neither the 6 or 8 compare to the 10 in my opinion.

Tried at PP bottle shop. Did a side-by-side of Rochefort 6 and Westy 6. They are different beers. One is a blonde, one is a dubbel, the comparison isn’t correct. I like Rochefort 6 better this time, but my memory of Westy 6 is better. Light amber color. Fruitier than Westy 6. Malty. Some caramelization. Nice.

350ml bottle. Pours a very fizzy oxblood color with a 2 finger head that dies really fast. Nose is grapes and malt – almost smells like a watered down wine. Palate is grapes again, but I’m also getting apricots. Very wine like. Finishes dry. Watery mouth feel and zero lacing. Interesting brew. I prefer the 8 and 10 though.

Unclear dark red amber, with a lasting and lively off-white head. Caramel, molasses, some dried fruits in the aroma. The caramel and dried fruit aroma, appears sweetish, but the actual dryness makes it very drinkable. Some licorice and pepper in the finish.

Good balance to this beer; could be considered a little on the carbonated side. Not heavy and comes sweet and tastes sticky brown sugar. Long finish that leaves a fizz on the tongue; the balance and afterglow holds up the score.

Exceeded my expectations. I was bracing for a rather hot beer with heavy malty and fruit flavor. But this was much more playful and light to my taste. Interestingly, it is *not* a viscous beer at all, not nearly the density of other 8% abv dubbels. Moderate head, not particularly foamy or fluffy as expected. It’s quite a thin mouthfeel drink, which was surprising, but the flavors are intense. Very inviting subtle brown candi sugar aroma and taste potpourri of plum, apricot, fig, very muted raisin and extremely soft spice. Carbonation bubbles hit like tiny delicate pop-rocks on the finish. Very enjoyable and unique.

Red-brown body, thick fluffy beige head. A bit soapy aroma, malt and flowers. Strong chocolatey taste, long well-balanced bitter finish.
