Has a huge tan colored head. Aromas are of dried figs, sweet malts, some damp basement. Medium mouthfeel, thinner than the #8. Tasted along with the #8. It is thinner in mouthfeel, but tasty all the same. Flavors are almost the same as #8, but not as hoppy. Another top shelf Trappist beer. knightrider (2), San Diego, California, USA does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 29, 2007 330ml bottle served in a trappist glass red with aged brown edges. creamy beige off white head. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 27, 2007 Nice chunky apperance for a Belgian Ale, aroma was mild with herbal notes. Wasn’t expecting it to be as good as the ten. This beer is very carbonated at the end with fruit and sugar up front. Pretty good beer. ratman197 (3222), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Pretty smelling beer, molasses malts meet flowery hops. Some grapes or raisins too. Poors with a very small beige head that disappears completely. Color is a muddy brown with a red tinge, thick with small particles. Flavor is nice, but nothing jumps out too much at me. Texture starts creamy and then fininshes dry and metallicy in the back of the mouth. Carbonation is lively, but the beer isn’t quite as alive. This brew is good, but I have had better Abbey Dubbels. stobbe74 (703), Denmark

The aroma is malty, with notes of caramel, sweetness and a little alcohol. The flavor is mostly sweet malts with caramel and slight bitterness. Slightly thin body. Overall a thin belgian beer, but the taste is above average. Svesse (2650), Hässelby, Sweden

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a muddy brown with a medium but fading tan head and an aroma of caramel, ripe grapes and biscuit. Flavor has notes of caramel, cacao, coffee, brown sugar, nuts and some citrus and grapes. Finish is nice bitter, but a bit watered down, so it doesn’t last for that long. Nice beer, but the others are better
