| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 9, 2009 Dark brown, small head. Aroma of alcohol, candy sugar, sweet dark fruits. The mouthfeel on this one bothers me. It kind of foams up in your mouth, make it frothy. Bread, sweet, dryness is overdone. Caramel. A little tart bitterness at the end, figs, plums. Overall, the flavors are actually pretty mellow-subtle and complex. deyholla (520), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours a reddish brown. Complex aroma of fruits with hints of nuttiness. Flavor is also complex. Sweet with tones of fruitiness. A very enjoyable beer. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 5, 2009 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a deep, slightly hazy mahogany with a pillowy, very light tan head. Soap, tropical fruit, pineapple, and a hint of alcohol in the nose. Medium-high carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. Soap, ripe tropical fruits, a bit of spice, alcohol, a medicinal note, and a light bitterness on the palate. The soap keeps throwing me off on this one. I would say this beer is okay, but far from great. Given the ratings I’ve seen I will retest, but right now I have to say this just isn’t a good beer. cgreb (179), Marburg, Germany

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 3, 2009 Courtesy of Chibbyman. Thanks once more. Dark reddish-brown pour with huge tan head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Sweet aroma that was slight- dark fruit, teast. Taste was also slighly sweet, thick, malty, and left a dryness to my mouth and lips. Slight alcohol. Drank this at temp right out of the earthen cellar I store the beer in.
