Pours a deep opaque brown with slight off-white head. Sediment is noticeable in the bottom of the glass. Nose is very mild: slightly malty. Flavor is of hops and something else that I cannot put my finger on. Finishes relatively clean. Not too shabby.

Dark, cloudy brown with lost of yeast sediment. Small head that perdures. Aromas of dark fruit and roasted malt that lingers. Notes of dark fruit with slight alcohol aftertaste. Very fizzy. As good as it’s father. A+

On draft at A La Mort Subite and from the bottle purchased at Cheesy in Prague. (Damn that’s a stupid name.) On draft, obvious sediment; from the bottle the first half-glass pours a clear dark amber with a Persian carpet of lightest beige on top. The nose has notes of stewed oranges, wine reduction, but also something bready pulled straight out of the walk-in. In the mouth, candied fruits dusted in cocoa. My notebook from the tasting at Mort Subite reads: "Dark choc.-scented alc.; inhale, exhale x2 — still tasting the fruit (peach, orange, coconut — am I just thinking fruit salad & Grandma?) Sediment in the bottom of the goblet." I wanted to say I like this better than Rochefort 10, but then again I’m an idiot. It’s still pretty good though.

Bottle 33cl. Pours a dark clear brown colour with a good size head, that lasts. Very complex smell that I can’t specifically put my finger on, noneless it’s brilliant. Flavour also very nice, can pick out raisins, pineapple and pear, but I tasted the beer too cold so I could be mistaking here. Goes down great, no trace of the alcohol, definitly one of my favorites!

Pours a murky brown color with a foamy tan head. Aroma of fruits and malt. Tastes of fruit, spice, malt with a bit of alcohol in the finish.

Had this beer many times, this stuff just keeps amazing me. Pours very deep dark brown, like dark chocolate, with a creamy beige head. Aroma is imo the only "flaw", it could have been stronger. Subtle aroma of dark fruits, mostly malts and dark chocolate, some alcohol. Flavour is soft, malts, lots of dark chocolate, some dark fruits and a bit of alcohol. The beauty of this beer is that you don’t have to work your way through a load of sugary sweetness like with so many other dark strong ales. Soft and creamy mouthfeel, nice lingering finish, full bodied.

Well balanced and very complex taste of raisen and caramel. A little too much carbonation for my taste, but that is the style.
