Chunky deep brown, persistent thick light tan head. Mexican chocolate, coriander seed and gingerbread aroma. Cocoa powder, buttered walnut flavor. Massive peppery carbonation. Clean dry finish with just a faint linger woodiness. This has been one of those beers I can’t believe it has taken my so long to get around to tasting, and now that I have, was indeed good, but a little disappointing overall. It tastes like a beer in its awkward teen stage: beer that is not young enough to have the brightness of fresh beer, nor old enough to have that soft unity of maturity. Lots of sass, but still doesn’t know what it wants to be when it grows up. gary07734 (397), Tyne & Wear, England

Pours deep muddy brown with a large foamy tan head fair ammount of carbonation. Smell is sweet and alcoholic, taste is complex, raisens, malt, cherries, fairly sweet with an alcoholic finish. An excellent truly enjoyable beer. zombywoof (358), Shawnee, Kansas, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Pours brown in color with ruby highlights. The most impressive thing is the frothy half inch head that is still there several minutes after the pour. This beer looks good! Very carbonated and creamy feel. Taste has a certain spice going on. Not as much dark fruit as the 10, but still noticeable. Very good beer that I could drink regularly. This is far from a knock, but I prefer the 10. Guinnessman (88), VACAVILLE, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Not as great as the 10...but still a phenomenal beer with good flavor. Goes great with a hunk of Gouda or Gruyere Cheese and good conversation. markwise (1175), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

It pours the typical slightly red brown color with a tiny amount of off-white head. Big flavors in this beer including candy sugar, dark fruit, milk chocolate, caramel/ toffee, and bourbon. Phenomenal. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA
