What a great beer...wow. Nice brown puor. Aromas of chocolate, dried fruit, sweet syrup, wood and high quality malt. Flavor is so well balanced it is hard to think there is much better. Rich and creamy....YES!

Bottle, cellar temp. Dark, beautifully muddy pour with huge beige head. Aromas of bittersweet chocolate, caramel, dark fruits, malt... all balanced very nicely and not too sweet. Tastes of bittersweet chocolate cake. Good call, gueuze is god, in saying that it smells and tastes like German chocolate cake. I also thought it had a nice fruitiness (a little plum, summer fruits) without being overly sweet. Some mild floral notes and doughy yeast. Alcohol was very present on first smell and sip, but that subsided very quickly, and this had a surprisingly light feel considering how dark and cloudy it was. Much closer to the 10 than to the 6. Great beer. Sooo good.

Bottle in Brussels, Wonderfully dark brown. Very sweet nose. Nutty, fruittcakey taste (and almost texture). Superb.

33cl bottle- approx 65 degrees F. One finger head, subsides in a minute. To me, smells exactly like german chocolate cake, icing and all, with emphasis on the cakey part. Tastes like velvety cake soaked in alcohol, the alc is very evident in the nostrils right away. Mouthfeel is initially rich but tails off somewhat watery with hop bitterness coating the tongue and finishing hotly alchohlic. Only lacks the ripe dark fruits of the 10. Very good.

Pours a murky brown with a thick and lingering tan head. A lot of sediment. Aroma of citrus, cherries, spices, and Belgian yeast. Very dry taste going down. Spicy at first with the alcohol lingering. Intermediate flavors aren’t pronounced at all, maybe some nuts or figs, but nothing as strong as the spicy lightly cherry overtone. Complexity kind of leads to a plainness when nothing jumps out as amazing.

A thick tan head, a deep red color, some lacing... it’s going to be good! Incredible aroma, I’m almost unable to discribe what it smells like, surely chocolate, dried fruit, some roastiness. Figs, nuts, and malt. Very round and warming without the alcohol taste. Just a bit less complex than the 10. Do we really deserve this?

A strong ale that looks like a Belgian Dubbel. I had this about a week after I had a Leffe Brune, and I have to say that I thought the Brune was a better beer, even though the alcohol content was not as high. It’s fruity, not as much yeast aroma as other Belgians, brown in color.

pours a murky reddish brown, smells of fruit and alcohol, the flavor is heavily carbonated and very malty, with hints of all kinds of fruits and spices, this has a very complex flavor and you can pick up different flavors throughout drinking this. Very amazing ale!
