bw1982 (70), , Florida, USA Sep 3, 2009 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a dark golden almost brown color, rich tan head. The aroma is fantastic, there is some bread, some tobacco-like spice, and a little bit of dried fruit. The palate is near perfect, not too light or too dense. The carbonation is alive but not bouncy, and the alcohol is only prevalent as a warm sensation at the end. The flavors include some spice, and a little bit of dried fruit and of course malted grain. Great beer! petematte46 (212), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 1, 2009 Much like its big brother 10. Great beer that I wish I could drink more often. Dark brown color with light tan head, nose is full and fruity and caramel flavor chrisv10 (335), Denmark Sep 1, 2009 33cl bottle. Dark cloudy brown body with small head. Flavour is malt, caramel and fruit. darn1207 (529), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 29, 2009 couple years ago all the local abc liquor stores knocked the price down on these to $1.99 - so I drove around and bought all of them. thirty or so. yet somehow I didn’t manage to get a rating in. with that preface - bottle. dark rich brown pour with a large beign head and tons of retention. there are little brown floaties on the side of the glass. spicy aroma of light tobacco, bread and dark fruits. think I always notice the texture first with these - perfect medium palate with consistent lively carbonation and nice warming alcohol in the finish. sugary caramel malt taste with pepper spices, plums and cereal. still a great beer. danielst (131), Vienna, Austria Aug 27, 2009 I was really excited to finally try this since I was a bit disappointed by Rochefort 6 and flabbergasted by R. 10... A hazy dark red pour with a typical stable and frothy head. The aroma reminds me a lot of the empty wooden barrels of red wine in my uncle’s winery, together with light caramel and whiskyish notes. Definitaley a citric component too, not sure about its origin. The flavour is... Wow, really amazing - mouthfilling, warming chocolate/walnuts, dark, ripe fruits and again delicious sweet caramel. Light roasted malt in the finish, together with a nice bitterness. The carbonation is medium but very adequate, complementing the mouth-coating creaminess this beauty leaves behind. This is similar to Rochefort 10, yet a gem on its own - more drinkable and less annihilating alcohol-wise. Love it! viet959 (68), , Georgia, USA Aug 26, 2009 Aroma: Plums, dark fruit, caramel, yeast. Appearance: Dark murkey brown, thin lasting head that leaves lacing. Flavor: Dark Fruit, chocolate, sweet caramel, yeast, a little spice. Palate: medium body, creamy, lively, astringent, with some alcohol. Overall Impression: This beer is very good. with a very nice flavor and good balance. jesperhammer (260), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 24, 2009 22-AUG-2009, Bottle @Henriks.

Nice carbonation and creamy.
Perfect beer, I just think I have had to many now to give it a fair rating...
I can barely read my own notes, so definately...
Sorry Rochefort
Sonicdescent (374), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 23, 2009 Pours a very dark and murky brown with one finger of creamy head.
Smells fruity, bananas and light berries.
Tastes similar to smell, very complex with those same hints of fruit and other light spices and bread.
Mouth is thin to medium bodied with high carbonation.
Not bad, not a westy 8 but not bad.
