| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours muddy brown with thick head. Pleasant fruity aroma with hints of malt. Taste is sweet of some fruit, difficult to describe, though. Does not leave a distinctive finish. It is quite lighter than the 10, but still very drinkable. grant (792), Long Beach, CA/Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2008 Turbid tobacco-spit brown. Frothy, homogeneously-bubbled head. Inviting bready, plummy aroma, lightly fruity and spicy, some figs and milk chocolate. Flavor rather surprised me, as I was expecting this to be rather sweet. Instead, I get a rather dry, roasty, hoppy flavor. Raisin and brown sugar, some rather prominent ethanol, a rather dusty graininess, and a spiky, rather orangey hoppiness. Long, lingering bitter aftertaste that I’m not overly fond of. blutt59 (2091), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 1, 2008 Bottle: Deep mahogony in color with a medium-thick head of medium-sized off-white bubbles. There were aromas of raisins, chocolate, orange pulp, plum and dark caramel. There is a lot of carbonation in the mouth keeping this very light and fresh. The flavors remain on the "dark side", similar to the nose but lack a bit of concentration. I love the 10, but this just feels like a watered down version, which should be expected but leaves me wanting more. chicagodri (1041), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a decent tan head. Very mellow beer. Seems to be a little over carbonated. A lot of aroma and flavor, mostly of bread and yeast. Nice amount of spices and a little fruit. Can’t wait to try the 10. dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Bottle, pours a dark brown with a nice tan head that lasts. Aroma of dark chocolate covered raisins. Flavors are big and complex as you can imagine... my biggest strike against it was the mouthfeel... seems over carbonated... had a bite to it that didn’t come from the alcohol... the alcohol comes through on the end, but it’s not a bad alcohol bite... the bite on the front end was bad for me. A big step down from the 10. elcaballo (101), Beverly Hills, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2008 A dark brow pour with a very smooth texture. I think it may have been a bit too chilled when i first tackled it but the flavors really opened up as i worked at it. Found this to be more complex (though a bit tougher to drink) than the 10...I need to buy this one again
