smell: nice fruit after a hint of banana. very warm soft fruit malts, hint of booze. smells very nice! app: nice garnet amber magic goodness. nice head. flavor: nice brown malts up front then banana then red fruits and berries. nice clean finish, GREAT BALANCE. a lil bit of booze in the finish that adds a sharpness. this is a grand belgian. touch to many nanners and a lil sharp on the booze. palate: lil bit carbonated nice and smooth though. like the silky feel. OA: really good for a belgian, wish it had more brown malt flavoring, .. but.. this is really good. i find that the slower i sip it the better it tastes. pivski (24), Zagreb, Croatia

I actually see no difference or just a little bit in flavor but it’s great and those two are definititely the beers I could drink every day, 10 of them or more :) changeup45 (788), Orlando, Florida, USA

The head does taper off a bit, leaving a thin head the rest of the way. Still leaves a good amount of lacing. Fruity, faint spiced malt aroma with a touch of yeast. Extremely smooth flavor with a rush of sugary dark fruits, slightly spicy with malts taking a back seat. Maybe even some caramel somewhere in there. A long, tasty, gentle mouthfeel. 9.2% and I hardly know it’s there. This is one of the best beers I have had to date. Thylacine (254), Tasmania, Australia

Tan head and lots of sediment. . Fruity aroma and flavours of dark roasted malts with dark fruits and caramel. Moderate carbonation and slightly effervescent/frothy on the tongue. Well balanced. The Rochefort 10 has the edge but this is a great drop all the same. jkm (189), Australia

Tan sediment is present in my glass. Aromas of roasted malts, sweet fruits and Belgian yeast fill your nose. Malt flavor is sweet, bready and nutty. Fruity notes are of plum, golden raisin and fig. The alcohol is well hidden, but still noticeable. Well balanced with a medium body, nice carbonation and a smooth mouth feel. Exceptional Trappist ale.
