milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Feb 3, 2008 Very similar to the 10...dark fruits and a wine sweetness on the nose with the dark fruits continuing all through the flavor. Alcohol is not as much as the 10. Overall, while the flavor is not as intense as the 10, this is still a great beer. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Feb 2, 2008 33 cL bottle and magnum bottle at Kerstbierfestival 2007. Pours deep brown, slight murky with a light brown head. Aroma is distinct chocolate malty, quite fresh fruity towards citrus fruits and mild yeast. Flavour holds the same distinct fresh citrus fruity hops note (does become a bit cloying towards the end) to a smooth delicate yeasty and malty chocolate malt base. Quite complex yet clearly lighter and more accessible compared to the 10. Ends with a nice lingering fruity and malt driven complex finish. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Feb 1, 2008 Updated: Feb 18, 2008Fantastic ale. Smooth finish, great color and head formation. Malt and caramel aroma was very pleasant. One of my favorite drinks. LadySusan (462), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada Jan 30, 2008 330ml. bottle. The color is dark brown with a thick beige head and a lot of lace. The aroma is malt and sweet caramel. The taste is also of malt and fruits, like raisin and other dried fruits. The aftertaste is just the right amount of bitterness to make it an almost perfect beer. darkseduction (198), Zweibrücken, Germany Jan 30, 2008 Bottle 33cl. Pours dark with almost no head, soft carbonation, strong alcoholic aftertaste, is it because of the unmalted grains in there. Tastes like dark beer with a shot of whiskey. Maybe the bottle isn´t good anymore. Have to re-rate this one another day. smith4498 (825), Miami, Florida, USA Jan 29, 2008 33cl bottle in Rochefort glass. Pours dark brown with a slight tan head. Fruity aroma. Nice lacing. Complex flavor of malts raisins, figs, caramel...great brew. Seems to get better as it warms. My favorite beer so far, can’t wait to try the 10. illini4ever (23), Illinois, USA Jan 29, 2008 This beer pours a rich golden brown with a luscious creamy tan head. Wonderful fruity aroma with a spectacular complex flavor. My new favorite! Ober (1161), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands Jan 29, 2008 This beer is one of my favorite.
A dark brown colored beer, with a strong creamy beige head. A fruity aroma and it’s significantly complex. Tastes of dark malts, yeast, spicy. It has chocolate and toffeeish notes. For this one you can wake me up in the night.
