Jan 26, 2008 Poured into my Rochefort goblet. This beer is the color of that brown waterproof wood stain and nearly as thick. Gritty hazy body with a monumental tan head. That famous Belgian lace is everywhere here.
The aroma is really complex. Booze soaked fig, spicecake, brown sugar, and yeast.
Taste is also very complex. Dark malt and yeast provide a foundation while several flavor notes dance upon it, including caramel, raisin, fig, pepper, exotic nuts, caramel, chocolate, and peat.
Mouthfeel takes a hit because it’s too carbonated. The 6 and the 8 have this problem, while the 10 seems to have it under better control. The carbonation is distracting, yet fine enough to make the beer go down quite smoothly. Great full body.

Jan 26, 2008 Bottle, 33cl. Pours a brown and unclear beer, with an offwhite and fizzy head. Nice fruity aroma, with notes of raisin and caramel. Very nice balance in the flavor. Flavor is fruity and with notes of nuts. The mouthfeel is heavy, yet refreshing. Overall this beer gives impression of very good and skilled handcraftship and dedication to make good beer.

Jan 25, 2008 A dark, cloudy, brown colored beer, with orange-red flashes in the light, topped with a strong, thick, off-white head. A strong perfumed nose, slightly soapy, but with plenty of dark fruit aromas. The taste is sour, again slightly perfumed, definitely floral, rose petal and violet, then sweet fruit flavors, with is accompanied by a strong alcoholic kick that gives a spiciness to the sour finish.

Jan 25, 2008 Pours a dark wood color with an off-white frothy head. Aroma is clean and sweet, not all that complex though. Flavor is mildly sweet, nutty, try finish, warming. Not a bad beer, but not nearly as good as I was hoping.

Jan 24, 2008 Bottle. Dark, brown with creamy, white head. Aroma has fruits, raisins, and caramel. A full, rich body. Nice round mouth feel. A very nice beer!

Jan 23, 2008 Dark brown with a tall fizzy head that dissipates to a layer of creamy bubbles laying on the top. Aroma is sweet, lots of dark fruits, some brown sugar, and yeast. Flavor has a creaminess in the front, plenty of sweet malt, and a caramel finish. An absolute treat.
