wickedpete (625), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Jan 23, 2008 Dark brown with a tall fizzy head that dissipates to a layer of creamy bubbles laying on the top. Aroma is sweet, lots of dark fruits, some brown sugar, and yeast. Flavor has a creaminess in the front, plenty of sweet malt, and a caramel finish. An absolute treat. gmonroe10 (172), Netherlands Jan 22, 2008 Dark nut brown and a thick tan head that slowly went down. Aroma of chocolate and plum, faint alcohol. Bitter finish at first and then at the end mellowed out and was extremely smooth. Moderate carbonation. Nice, but not as good as the 10 ribond (2), USA does not count Jan 22, 2008 Delicious. Color is a little bit dark muddy and the flavor is not as intense as I had hoped... but this does not disappoint. The aroma is a gentle chocolate/fruit and the flavor lingers sweet. Easy to appreciate this one. emerica56 (575), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Jan 21, 2008 Was dumped into a trappist glass and foamed right up with a nice sudsy and thick tan head. the color was dark nut brown and a bit cloudy. the aroma is nice and floral, with some hints of dark fruits and mild hops. I personally like the intial fruity and bitter combination. It also has some nice carbonation, but the finish is a bit watery with not much of an after taste. stef7321 (15), Williamsburg, Virginia, USA Jan 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy, dark caramel colour with a bit of sediment. Drink at an almost ambient temperature to unlock the flavours. Enters with notes of maple, raisins, and rounds out to a robust yet sublty fruity bouquet. Easy on the nose with a brilliant smell that entices the palate. Very nice beer. tunneler (112), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jan 20, 2008 slightly preferred the 6. High alcohol blurs some of th edges here, and a little more yeast flavor/aroma comes through as well. darker and fruiter than the 6 as well, loses some of the herbal notes VacaBeerDude (19), Vacaville, California, USA Jan 18, 2008 Bottle. As a fan of strong belgian ales, I looked forward to trying this beer. The beer pours a dark, cloudy brown with a thick tan head. Aromas of plum, chocolate and yeast dominate. The first swallow might be a bit of a shock, but the beer mellows to a slightly sweet, delicious ale that is perfect for slow, easy drinking with good friends and fine conversation. jsh12bama (335), Alabama, USA Jan 18, 2008 Pours hazy dark brown with one inch thick tan head. Aroma of dark fruit. Taste of plums, raisins, and chocolate. Good beer.
