Dark chestnut brown appearance with a thin, but long lasting mocha colored head; lots of sediment floating about. Malty aroma with some wort-like essence laced with brandy, dates and raisins. Flavor has some fresh baked brown elements to it with some brandy, raisins and dates. Silky smooth mouthfeel. High ABV is hidden well. A damn good Ale.

Bottled(330ml). –excellant beer, great fruity(banana, wild berries, plums, cherry) aroma with chewing gum notes(maybe cinnamon), great slight sweet alcohol taste with nice light caramel and slight alcohol finish

Dark brown and cloudy with a huge beige head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and fruits, raisin and apple. Taste was sweet and dominated (perhaps too much so) by dark chocolate.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark amber with a pillowy head. There is a strong sweet and complex aroma. The taste is quite rich and complex as well with hints of fruit and malt, as well as lingering malty aftertaste. This is a very good trappist ale, yum.

Cloudy amber color, little beige head. Fruity and hoppy aroma with notes of alcohol, very dimensional aroma indeed. Strong fruity flavor with some alcohol and dry ending. Fine beer, mildly alcoholic and dry ending fits nicely to medium body.

Rerate: what a godlike fluid this is! Dark color, with longlasting firm head. Bready, malty aroma, with hints of chocolate. Malty taste, chocolate. Long lingering palate. Hoping it to last forever...

What a great beer...wow. Nice brown puor. Aromas of chocolate, dried fruit, sweet syrup, wood and high quality malt. Flavor is so well balanced it is hard to think there is much better. Rich and creamy....YES!

Starts off with a thick white head that lasts and leaves a lot of lacing. Has aromas of hops and esters (plus a hint of soap) lots of floaty yeast particles and flavours of fruit cake and a winey woodiness like its been matured in a sherry butt. Aftertaste is soft and smooth with an alcoholic kick.
