Dark reddish-brown colour; aromas of brandy, chocolate and black cherry. Stiff alcohol flavours in the body, with a dark fruitiness and a lot of malt.

Dark amber color. Aroma of malt, bread, candi sugar, lightly fruity (strawberries). Malty, not really viscous, a delicate but evident liquorice taste at the mid-end, alcohol touch. Good but not astonishing palate. I don't know exactely why, but I expected more...
Improves a lot when pouring the sediment.

Very nice beer, one I like better than the Rochefort 10. Lighter in body, sweet caramel, fruity and brandy flavors.

Bottle. This is my highest rated beer and for good reason. Hazey reddish brown colour with beige head. Aroma is stunning. Bitter choc with sweet black cherry and dark fruit nose some raisin/sherry/whiskey. more choc in mouth with sweetish dark fruit and again the same cherry/raisin/sherry flabours but on the end a burst of spicey hops. Never gets too sweet. Some orange as well. Unbelievably good with a slight alcoholic warming kick at the end

Bottle (exp. June 2008, says Alc. 9.2% vol)
Looks like "home beer", hazy brown, rapidly vanishing creamy light brown sizzling head. Aroma is alcohol, prune and yeast. Carbonated palate, starts smooth, finishing with alcoholic kick. After taste crisp and alcoholic, very warming. (6/3/5/4/10 2.8)
Re-rate: (Bottled BB 11.02.09)
Dark nut brown hazy color. Nut brown huge rocky head, lace. Delicios prunes and raisin aroma. Carbonated and smooth palate with alcohol, apples and malts. High ABV makes nices warming aftertaste and -feeling. (8/4/7/4/15 3.8)
